About Gayle

GayleGayle Visentine Reynolds has been practicing art and design over her entire life. She holds a BFA in Interior Design and Art History from Maryville College in St. Louis, Missouri. As an artist, Gayle has studied numerous art forms, most recently at The School of the MFA and at The DeCordova Museum School. Her paintings and collage works have appeared in juried exhibitions at The DeCordova Museum, Duxbury Art Association, The Falmouth Artists Guild where one of her mixed media works won best of show and at The Cambridge Art Association where her work was recently juried into the 2006 Members Prize Show. Two works were also juried into the Bromfield Gallery’ Holiday Show.

Currently, Gayle is total immersed into painting, mixed media, and collage work. She creates small, intimate and personal mixed media collages combining found objects, writings, painting and her own handmade paper. Gayle also explores mood and emotional nuance using color, dynamic physical gesture and controlled accidents to create larger, bold abstract paintings in acrylics as well as other mediums. The effects of light, color and spatial relationships along with variegated surface textures express the passions in our lives.

Gayle’s art studio is located at the Munroe Center For the Arts at 1403 Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington, Massachusetts.  She is also an active member of The Cambridge Art Association.

Her painting INVASION will be in a regional juried exhibition held at the Cape Cod Museum of Art from July 27 through August 19, 2007.
